Wednesday Night Pairs 2010
14 ends. Unlimited dead ends. Play starts Wednesday May 26th
INITIAL ENTRY DEADLINE - 4 pm on Wednesday May 19th
Enter as a team. $40 entry per team for the season.
Number of teams must be in multiples of four.
- Entries will be divided into groups of 4 teams, with the highest ranked teams in Group 1 and so on. Ranking to be determined by the combined points in Provincial play from 2007 to 2009, ties to be broken by a draw.
- Each group to play a round robin over 3 weeks. 2 points for each win and 1 for a tie. The winner of each group wins $30 and the runner up $10. Ties in the standings broken by the results against each other and if still tied by aggregate in the games between the tied teams.
- The groups are then rearranged. The top teams in each group move up a group, (except for Group 1) and the bottom team in each group moves down a group, (except the lowest group).
- These new groups will play another 3 week round robin. Again, $30 for the top team in each group and $10 for 2nd place; top team moves up a group, bottom team drops down and so on.
- Teams may enter late for a proportional fee, (as long as the total number of teams is a multiple of four). They would start play in the next round robin and start in the bottom group.
- There are enough Wednesdays to get 4 round-robins in by the end of August, (if there are no weather cancellations).
- Starting, May 26th, June 23rd, July 14th, August 4th
- No play on June 9th (Corporate Challenge) or August 18th (Canadian Championships)
- If the initial number of teams is not a multiple of four, we’ll beat the bushes to get the right number. If we can’t get a multiple of four the latest registering teams will unfortunately be eliminated.
